Jolyn Allen, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a diverse background in mental health care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Harding University in Searcy, AR, and went on to achieve her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Texas at Arlington, where she distinguished herself as the recipient of the Ella Kate and Wallace Ralston graduate scholarship award. As a board-certified practitioner, Jolyn conducts thorough psychiatric evaluations to diagnose and collaborates closely with her patients to develop personalized treatment plans. With experience in various practice settings, including inpatient, residential treatment, community health, private practice, and nursing homes, she brings a wealth of expertise to her practice.
Jolyn’s approach to mental health involves a comprehensive blend of psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and self-care strategies. She prescribes medications based on clinical evidence, health history, best practice guidelines, and consideration of coexisting medical conditions. Her treatment options encompass a wide range, including psychotropic medications, Spravato, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Vivitrol, and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders. Jolyn is dedicated to supporting individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and substance abuse concerns. Beyond her professional commitments, Jolyn finds joy in Pilates, spending time with her family at the lake, traveling, playing pickleball and volleyball. Actively engaged in her church, she embraces opportunities to serve in various mission areas, and her ultimate happy place is on the beach.
