Carmen Ferreira-López, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a dedicated and compassionate psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner with a rich background in nursing and a commitment to holistic patient care. Carmen began her nursing journey at JFK Muhlenberg Harold B. & Dorothy A. Snyder School of Nursing in New Jersey, where she earned her ADN in 2011. While working full-time as a labor and delivery nurse, she pursued further education, earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Chamberlain University.

With 12 years of nursing experience across various specialties, Carmen’s dedication to excellence in patient care has been recognized with the prestigious DAISY Award. She approaches patient care with a holistic perspective, integrating psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and non-pharmacological methods to address mental health concerns.

Carmen’s clinical interests lie in depression, anxiety, and substance use disorder, areas where she is deeply committed to making a difference in her patients’ lives. She finds great fulfillment in practicing medicine, as it allows her to positively influence people’s lives and enhance their well-being. Building deep, trusting relationships with her patients is particularly rewarding for Carmen, as she believes these connections are essential for achieving optimal outcomes.

Outside of work, Carmen prioritizes building and nurturing relationships with loved ones to maintain a healthy work-life balance. She finds joy in laughter and values its ability to bring people together and relieve stress. In her free time, Carmen enjoys going for walks, watching movies and documentaries, reading to expand her knowledge, and listening to podcasts. Through her dedication to patient-centered care and her passion for continuous learning, Carmen embodies the qualities of a caring and empathetic healthcare provider.
